(1) Vendor needs to provide integrated website, discovery, content management, and library catalog platform using content management system.
Website Platform Goals:
- Encourage search and discovery across our digital resources and physical collection.
- Spur engagement with the library.
- Provide help and suggestions at a patron’s point of needed.
- Enable patrons to donate and volunteer with minimal effort.
- Serve up personalized content based on a patron’s interests, location, and circumstances.
- Allow patrons to do as much (if not more) online as they can in person at a branch: get a library card sign up for a program, find materials, research, etc.
Functionality and Third-Party Integration:
- Ability to schedule content for publishing and expiration.
- Automatically generated Amazon affiliate links in book/material lists.
- Printer friendly option for recommendation lists.
- The ability to create master templates of events that lock down the event title and description.
- Links and internal notes can be added to the master templates to provide branch staff with additional information relevant to that program/event.
- Easy, quick way for staff to create recommendation lists for a variety of formats.
- Cross-selling/serving content between the catalog and other website content.
- User accounts not just for a library card, but for website content and personalization.
- Intuitive, user-friendly searching across the website, events, catalog, digital collection, and research databases.
- Ability to schedule multiple site-wide and section-wide alerts for publishing and expiration.
- Compatible with smart speakers and voice-activated technology.
- Provide configurable security for patron records.
- The catalog integrates with Google Analytics.
- Intuitive, user-friendly searching across the website, events, catalog, digital collection, and research databases.
- Capability to combine previous search sets with new terms to make a new search statement.
- Ability to mask display of a bibliographic or item record if no copies are attached, but allow on-order copies to show within the policy parameters for on-order item display.
- System provides one-click download of e-resources.
- System supports the ability for patrons to add e-resources to a wish list for later checkout.
- System provides the capability for a patron to renew the e-resource.
