- Our goal is to meet the emerging needs of our residents by offering a website that:
• Provides the public with information about the City and access to the services the city provides to the community.
• Is simple to navigate and find information regardless of the device they are using
• Follows the city’s branding with consistent fonts, graphics and color schemes on all pages for easy identification as a trusted source of information.
• Is easy to maintain for administrators and content creators
• Boosts resident satisfaction
• Improves the digital profile of the City
- Required Features: At a minimum, the vendor will deliver to the City a new, fully functioning CMS (Content Management System) which includes the following requirements:
1. Responsive design
Our new website should ensure all users can view our site, no matter what device
they are using.
2. Intuitive navigation
The City website has a lot of information. The new navigation should help
users locate information quickly by directing visitors through logical information
patterns. Categorizing information through multiple paths will also help visitors locate
information even when they are unfamiliar with the specific roles and objectives of
various departments. The site should also feature friendly URLs for easy reference.
3. Site search
Extend our site's usability by allowing users to skip directly to the information they
need. Search tools should allow users to locate information anywhere on our site by
searching for keywords in all pages and documents.
4. Easy access
Provide quick access to frequently requested information in the header or footer of each
page. From contact information to documents, e-payments to e-notifications, determine
which pages our visitors use most and provide links in multiple, convenient locations
throughout the site.
5. ADA compliance
Our new website design should comply with WCAG 2.0 and Section 508 of the
Rehabilitation Act. We want to make sure that all users, including those with disabilities,
have a positive user experience.
6. E-Notification
Keep our community well-informed on important notices with automatic
emails/texts. Ideally users can subscribe to specific areas of interest and modify those
settings online 24/7.
7. RSS Feeds
Allow the public to subscribe to be updated when new board and commission
agendas/minutes are available
8. Online forms
Ability to create and process online forms to offer the public convenient access to services,
preferably with online payment option
9. Public Notices
Allow for easy posting of request for bids/proposals, public meeting notices, etc.

design as the other interior pages. We also have a couple of separate URLs that we would
like to have redirect to specific departments. For example, we have a community center
and would like its site to be integrated into the overall city site while maintaining its
separate URL.
13. Unique, consistent design
The newly designed website should be as unique as our community. The look and
feel of the website should represent our brand, be simple, modern and consistent,
yet engaging. Expectation of plain language throughout the site.
14. Adequate Photo Storage & Use
The City would like to shift our reliance on text toward a more photo-friendly design
with adequate storage for photos used on the site.
15. Rotating Photos/Banners
Dynamic image display (preferably that can be updated)

Dynamic content with ability for people to click for more information rather than
being overloaded with text when looking at the page
17. Interactive calendars
Help site visitors stay informed on upcoming local events, meetings, and activities. A
searchable calendar that automatically removes outdated information is ideal.
